$5000 Home Makeover

Furniture Affair and Arizona Woman Magazine paired up to give away a $5000 Shopping Spree to one of their lucky readers! That lucky reader was Shirley of Phoenix, AZ. Shirley had no idea that subscribing to Arizona Woman would get almost her entire a home makeover.

Shirley’s $5000 shopping spree also came with a team of designers to help her pick out the perfect pieces for her home. She arrived at Furniture Affair the day after she heard the news of her winning! Shirley was paired up with Rene Lopez and Jon La Dosz of Furniture Affair to help her design the perfect room for her.

The design team began the transformation process in the living room. They removed Shirley’s old sofa and replaced it with a beautiful chaise lounger. Shirley said, “I have always wanted a chaise in my home and now my dream has come true!” Jon and Rene then added a set of matching club chairs to complement the chaise. Accent pillows were added to the chaise to bring out the stunning red color that appeared in chaise.

Next, the design team brought in an armoire to replace Shirley’s’ entertainment center. Her television and audiovisual equipment is now concealed in the armoire giving the room a clean and fresh new look! The team added a new buffet table in Shirley’s living room to replace the storage space she lost when her entertainment center was removed. The buffet also doubles as an elegant display area. The most important thing in Shirley’s life is her family so the design team decided to display her family photos in a highly visible area, the top of the buffet. The team chose a set of corresponding frames to place the treasured family photos in.

The designers picked a few pieces of art to finish the overall look and feel of the room they had created. The final touches came in the accessories. The design team brought in new light fixtures, silk plants, beautiful accessories, candles and flowers to complete the overall ambiance of the room.

Our design project did not end here. Shirley was shopping at Furniture Affair where our designer selected Furnishings are 30%-80% below retail. So after our design team completely redecorated her living room they moved into the bedroom! Shirley was able to buy an entirely new bedroom set! Her whole home was now ready to do the thing she loved to do the most, entertain her beloved family.

She said, “I would have never been able to do this on my own… I love my new furnishings!”
