Holiday Centerpieces made EASY!

Throwing a party always sounds like fun until you realize how much work is required, but creating a dazzling centerpiece doesn't have to take a lot of time.

Items around the house may actually be all that's needed to create a beautiful holiday centerpiece.

Whether you prefer modern or traditional holiday themes, dressing up your table doesn't have to be difficult.

Rene Lopez, an Interior Advisor for Furniture Affair, said the first important thing to do before making a centerpiece is to find a focal point, such as an ice bucket. Lopez suggests placing a candleholder inside that will double as a vase.

"Of course in your centerpieces, you don't necessarily need to cover it up with a lot of flowers," Lopez said. "Simplicity is always really nice."

Once the bouquet is complete, Lopez adds a touch of romance with candles.

It also gives it a little texture and, of course, a different look," Lopez said. "You don't necessarily have to have the same style or look. You can use a martini glass, a sundae dish or even a cocktail glass."

Lopez finishes the table by using garland and ornaments from a tree.

For a more natural approach, try adding fruit to a clear glass pitcher, making sure the fruit is facing out.

"Use your smaller flower at the top and as you're starting to go around, start bringing in your larger flower," Lopez said.

Once the bouquet is finished, Lopez recommends adding more fruit.

Add some mixed nuts and pinecones as final touches, along with a few holiday ornaments.
